The Sierra-Sacramento Valley Emergency Medical Services (S-SV EMS) Agency is a Joint Powers Agency (JPA) based in Rocklin, California. Established in 1975, the agency is governed by a board comprised of County Supervisors from its ten member counties. S-SV EMS serves as the designated local EMS agency (LEMSA) for Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Nevada, Placer, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, and Yuba counties, which together have a population of approximately 1,300,000. As a government body, S-SV EMS holds the legal responsibility for overseeing all aspects of emergency medical services within its ten-county jurisdiction. This includes, but is not limited to, designing the EMS system, ensuring the qualification, accreditation, and authorization of all prehospital care personnel, and ensuring compliance with local and state EMS statutes and regulations.
