Shorenstein AsiaPacific Research Center

The Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (Shorenstein APARC) is a research center located in Stanford, California. It is a part of Stanford University's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and employs 9 people. Shorenstein APARC focuses on research, education, and outreach related to Asia, its regional and global affairs, and U.S.-Asia relations. The center's research encompasses a wide range of topics, including innovation and entrepreneurship, education and development, political economy, governance and political movements, comparative health and health policy, Asia-Pacific regional cooperation, and U.S.-Asia relations. Shorenstein APARC shares its research findings through publications, courses, training opportunities, policy outreach, events, and expert commentary. Shorenstein APARC's six programs advance its mission. Five research programs focus on China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, and comparative health policy in the Asia-Pacific. Additionally, the Global Affiliates Program strengthens relationships and creates collaboration opportunities between the center and Asian partners in the public and private sectors.
