Shields and Stripes

Shields and Stripes is a small non-profit organization based in Pinehurst, North Carolina, with a team of four dedicated employees. The organization is committed to providing comprehensive support to law enforcement officers, first responders, and veterans who have experienced service-related trauma. Shields and Stripes offers a unique three-month program designed to optimize the whole person. This program, developed in partnership with EXOS Performance, starts with a three-week intensive residency at one of their performance facilities. During this time, participants engage in a variety of therapeutic modalities including strength and conditioning, dietician consultation with onsite meal preparation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, massage, yoga, and ice therapy. Following the residency, participants receive nine weeks of virtual care to reinforce the program's concepts and help them integrate the learned skills into their daily lives. Shields and Stripes's goal is to empower these heroes to return to their work and personal lives stronger and better equipped to fulfill their roles as stewards of their communities.
