Shanghai Advanced Research Institue Chinese Academy of Science

Shanghai Advanced Research Institute (SARI), Chinese Academy of Sciences, is a research institute based in the United States. It is a joint venture between the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Shanghai Municipal government. SARI is a medium-sized organization with 117 employees and generates approximately $500 million in annual revenue. SARI focuses on five key research areas: Frontier Studies and Advanced Materials, Information, Space and Marine, Energy and Environment, and Life Science and Technology. The institute also operates a technology transfer center and provides education and training programs. SARI is responsible for the planning, organization, implementation, and coordination of the development of CAS Pudong Science and Technology Park.
