Science Communication Lab

Science Communication Lab (SCL) is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco, California. With 18 employees, SCL is dedicated to engaging the public with science through multimedia storytelling. Their mission is driven by a commitment to equity and inclusion in STEM, often featuring the stories of students and scientists from marginalized communities. SCL offers two main programs: the Wonder Collaborative and educational initiatives. The Wonder Collaborative focuses on filmmaking, producing feature-length and short films that highlight the wonder, awe, and diversity of scientific discovery. They utilize innovative distribution networks to reach a wider audience. The education arm includes iBiology, which provides high-quality educational videos featuring modern biology, and the Explorer's Guide to Biology, offering text-based narratives for undergraduate curriculum.
