The Santa Monica Museum of Art (SMMoA) is a non-collecting museum located in Santa Monica, California. With a staff of 5 employees, SMMoA is dedicated to fostering diversity, innovation, and discovery in contemporary art. SMMoA presents exhibitions and programs that explore the vibrant and often untold stories of contemporary art and culture. The museum features the Main Gallery and two project rooms, showcasing the work of local, national, and international artists who deserve wider recognition. Their exhibition spaces are dedicated to presenting innovative work by both emerging and established artists. As the only kunsthalle in Southern California, SMMoA sets itself apart by focusing solely on contemporary art.
