SanibelCaptiva Conservation Foundation

SanibelCaptiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Sanibel, Florida. Founded in 1967, SCCF focuses its efforts on protecting and caring for Southwest Florida's coastal ecosystems. The organization employs 30 people and generates an annual revenue of $4 million. SCCF's mission includes conducting Water Quality Research, advocating for sound environmental policy, protecting sea turtles and shorebirds, promoting native landscaping, managing habitats and wildlife, and providing environmental education. They have acquired and preserved approximately 2,000 acres of environmentally sensitive land on Sanibel Island, North Captiva, Cape Coral, and South Fort Myers. In addition to land preservation, SCCF operates the Native Landscapes & Garden Center at the Bailey Homestead Preserve on Sanibel Island. The center offers a range of native plants for sale and provides landscaping and educational services. The organization also owns and operates the Sanibel Sea School, which offers immersive educational experiences focused on ocean conservation.
