San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is an autonomous Special District based in San Ramon, California. Governed by a five-member, publicly-elected Board of Directors, the District employs 98 individuals and generates an annual revenue of $50 million. The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District provides comprehensive fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the communities within Contra Costa County. Their service area spans approximately 155 square miles and encompasses a diverse population of 169,900 residents. This includes Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, Diablo, San Ramon, parts of Morgan Territory, and the Tassajara Valley. The District operates nine career fire stations, one volunteer-staffed station, and its own accredited 911 communications center. They maintain fifteen companies equipped to handle a variety of emergencies, including structure and wildland engines, ladder trucks, ALS ambulances, and specialized units for Hazardous Materials, Rescue, and Communications. The District's Fire Prevention Division actively manages community risk reduction initiatives, focusing on vegetation and hazard abatement programs, plan review and engineering services, code enforcement, and fire investigations.
