San Antonio Book Festival

The San Antonio Book Festival (SABF) is a non-profit organization based in San Antonio, Texas. With a team of five employees, it is dedicated to promoting literacy and a love of reading within the community. SABF hosts an annual literary festival featuring over 100 authors, offering attendees author presentations, panel discussions, and book signings. The festival takes place at the Central Library and Southwest School of Art, and is free of charge to the public. In addition to the main event, SABF runs the GET LIT Author Series, which brings authors to communities outside of the annual festival throughout the year. They also have an educational initiative called Authors in Schools, which partners with Title I schools in Bexar County to connect students with award-winning writers. A key aspect of SABF's mission is its commitment to making books accessible to all. Over its ten-year history, the organization has distributed more than 11,880 books to students through the festival and its Authors in Schools program. Each student who attends an Authors in Schools presentation receives a signed copy of the author's book.
