Sadie Nash Leadership Project

Sadie Nash Leadership Project is a non-profit organization based in New York City, New York. Employing 55 people, the organization is dedicated to empowering young women and gender expansive youth. Established in 2001, Sadie Nash Leadership Project has a reach extending beyond New York City, serving youth from Newark, New Jersey as well. SNLP offers a variety of educational programs designed to inspire and equip young women and gender expansive youth ages 11-22. Their flagship Summer Institute provides immersive experiences, while yearlong classes within schools and social service agencies offer ongoing support. Advanced-level fellowships, paid internships, and a comprehensive college program provide further avenues for growth and development. Over the past two decades, SNLP has achieved significant success, demonstrated by a 2012 Impact study highlighting the long-term positive effects of their programs. Their financial stability has been a key factor in their success, alongside two smooth leadership transitions and prominent awards such as the 2020 Brooklyn Community Foundation Spark Prize, the 2013 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House, and the 2010 New York Times Gold Prize for Overall Management Excellence.
