Rise

Rise is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, California. The organization employs 319 people and generates $50 million in annual revenue. Rise focuses on empowering student voices to advocate for accessible higher education. They achieve this by training and hiring community college and university students to spearhead campaigns addressing various challenges faced by students. These campaigns aim to eliminate tuition and fees, expand financial aid, combat student hunger and homelessness, and increase voter engagement. Notably, Rise also established the Student Navigator Network to offer personalized support and case management to students impacted by COVID-19. While Rise students work across the United States, their primary areas of focus in 2020 were California, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
