REMADE Institute

The REMADE Institute is a public-private partnership based in West Henrietta, New York. Founded in 2017, the organization boasts over 165 members and is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Energy. REMADE's mission centers around accelerating the transition to a Circular Economy, aiming to address manufacturing's impact on climate change. REMADE focuses on developing technologies that promote reuse, remanufacturing, recovery, and recycling of materials like metals, plastics, fibers, and e-waste. These technologies aim to reduce energy consumption, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, conserve resources, and enhance supply chain resilience. Through investments in early-stage R&D projects, REMADE seeks to achieve substantial environmental and economic benefits. Their initiatives are projected to save 1 quad of energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 million metric tons annually, and generate billions of dollars in new economic opportunities.
