Reference and User Services Association RUSA

Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) is a division of the American Library Association, based in Chicago, Illinois. The organization employs 5 to 9 individuals and generates over $1 billion in annual revenue. RUSA provides resources and support to library professionals in a variety of areas, including reference, user services, adult readers advisory, collection development, resource sharing, genealogy, archives, business reference, and reference technology. Members can access online discussion forums, webinars, eCourses, and listservs to learn and network with over 3,000 fellow members across the nation. RUSA also hosts two annual conferences featuring author panels and social events. RUSA distinguishes itself through its commitment to professional development. Members can advance their skills by participating in leadership opportunities within one of six specialty sections or one of 127 committees. Notably, RUSA's Book & Media Awards committees select the best adult books of the year, representing the only adult book awards presented by the American Library Association.
