Prime Energy Corporation is a small company based in Saugus, Massachusetts, with 5 to 9 employees. The company focuses on developing clean energy solutions for the small wind market. Prime Energy Corporation is the creator of the PowerJet™ wind turbine, a unique horizontal axis (downwind) turbine with patented enclosed blades. This design leads to increased output, efficiency, durability, and reliability compared to traditional 3-bladed turbines of a similar size. The PowerJet™ operates silently and safely, and its simple design allows for manufacturing using various materials. This versatility makes it suitable for both standalone systems in remote locations and as a supplemental energy source integrated with solar or other energy systems. The PowerJet™'s development was initially funded by private investments of $2.5 million, allowing Prime Energy Corporation to perfect the turbine's design and optimize its performance. Further development was supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. The PowerJet™ was showcased at AWEA’s 2nd Annual Small & Community Wind Conference in Portland, Oregon, in December 2010.
