PPBE Reform Commission

The Commission on Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) Reform is a small commission based in the United States. With three employees, the commission focuses its efforts on a singular mission: examining the effectiveness of the Department of Defense’s PPBE process. Congress created the PPBE Reform Commission in 2022 through Section 1004 of the Fiscal Year 2022 National Defense Authorization Act. The commission’s work directly impacts the Department of Defense, analyzing and providing recommendations for improvements to its planning, programming, budgeting, and execution processes. The commission’s work is critical to ensuring the efficient and effective use of taxpayer dollars within the Department of Defense. Their findings and recommendations are expected to have a significant impact on future defense planning and resource allocation.
