Posey County Government

Posey County Government is a government entity located in Hamlet, North Carolina. It employs 30 individuals and generates approximately $50 million in annual revenue. The county government is structured with a legislative branch, the County Council, and an executive branch, the Board of Commissioners. The County Council sets salaries, manages the annual budget, and has authority to impose local taxes. The Board of Commissioners, elected county-wide, executes the council's legislation, collects revenue, and oversees day-to-day operations. Posey County also has several elected officials, including the sheriff, coroner, auditor, treasurer, recorder, surveyor, and circuit court clerk.
