Port of Los Angeles

The Port of Los Angeles is a public agency, located in San Pedro Bay, 25 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, California. Employing 605 people, the port handles billions of dollars worth of cargo each year. The Port of Los Angeles provides a wide range of cargo handling services, including automobile, breakbulk, container, dry and liquid bulk, and warehouse facilities. This bustling seaport accommodates passenger and cargo terminals, and is recognized as the number one port in the nation for container throughput since the year 2000. The Port is dedicated to sustainability, investing in transportation and infrastructure projects to modernize and enhance the efficiency of its cargo-handling terminals. It also funds and maintains the LA Waterfront, which features public promenades, walking paths, open space, and scenic views.
