Pink Palace Museum

The Pink Palace Museum, a museum in Memphis, Tennessee, is part of the Museum Family, which operates several other notable attractions, including the CTI 3D Giant Theater, the Sharpe Planetarium, the Lichterman Nature Center, and two historic houses: Mallory-Neely and Magevney. Employing 109 individuals, the Pink Palace Museum, along with the Sharpe Planetarium and CTI 3D Giant Theater, holds accreditation from the American Association of Museums. Visitors can explore a wealth of exhibits ranging from Memphis history and health care to the natural world. They can journey through a replica of the nation's first self-service grocery store, "Piggly Wiggly", explore the Mid-South's cultural and natural history through displays and interactive exhibits, and discover the history of Memphis, encompassing its past from Spanish explorers through the Civil War and the yellow fever epidemics. The museum also showcases exhibits exploring dinosaurs and fossils, showcasing Earth's dramatic transformations over time. Additionally, the Museum constantly welcomes rotating exhibitions, providing engaging experiences throughout the year. The Lichterman Nature Center, managed within the Museum Family, achieved distinction as the very first accredited nature center in the United States. This museum draws crowds of visitors year-round.
