Piedmont Land Conservancy

Piedmont Land Conservancy (PLC) is a non-profit organization based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Founded in 1990, PLC is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving natural and scenic lands, farms, and open spaces in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. With a team of eight employees, PLC has generated $2.5 million in revenue. PLC's mission is to protect lands that enhance the quality of life for current and future generations. They achieve this by acquiring and managing conservation easements on private lands, working with landowners to protect their property, and advocating for policies that support land conservation. PLC serves nine counties in the northern Piedmont region: Alamance, Caswell, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin. As the only local land protection organization in this area, PLC distinguishes itself through its commitment to working collaboratively with landowners, communities, and other organizations to achieve shared conservation goals. They are actively involved in the Land Trust Alliance and the Association of North Carolina Land Trusts (Land Trust Council), demonstrating their dedication to best practices and collaboration within the land conservation community.
