Philippine Rural Development Project

The Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) is a national project based in the United States. Operated as part of the Department of Agriculture (DA), PRDP employs 80 people and generates an estimated $100 million in annual revenue. PRDP strives to modernize the agriculture and fisheries sector in the Philippines through a value chain-oriented and climate-resilient approach. The project partners with local government units (LGUs) and the private sector to deliver vital infrastructure, facilities, technology, and information to targeted areas. This support aims to increase incomes, productivity, and competitiveness for farmers and fishers. A key aspect of PRDP is fostering good governance, transparency, and accountability throughout its operations. The project facilitates a local-level convergence platform, bringing together national line agencies, the private sector, civil society, and academia. This collaboration enables the implementation of more effective and inclusive interventions that benefit a wider range of farmers and fishers.
