The Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations New York is a Diplomatic Mission based in Tarrytown, New York. It is a small-sized organization with 38 employees. The Permanent Mission represents Nigeria at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, facilitating the country's relations with member states on a wide range of global issues. These issues include international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, civil rights, civil liberties, political freedoms, democracy, and the pursuit of lasting world peace. The Mission of Nigeria joined the United Nations on October 7, 1960, becoming the 99th member of the organization.
