Pacific Maritime Association

The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) is a non-profit mutual benefit corporation based in San Francisco, California. It employs 1,506 people and generates $15.8 million in annual revenue. The PMA serves as a multi-employer collective bargaining agent for approximately 72 shipping lines, stevedore companies, and marine terminal operators operating at ports in California, Oregon, and Washington. PMA's primary function is negotiating and administering labor contracts with the International Longshore & Warehouse Union on behalf of its member companies. In addition, the organization handles payroll and certain employee benefits for its members. The PMA's mission is to provide industry leadership to its member companies through innovative integrated labor relations, human resources, and administrative services. PMA maintains its headquarters and administrative office in San Francisco, California. The organization also has area offices in Southern California (Long Beach, with satellite offices in Port Hueneme and San Diego) and the Pacific Northwest (Portland, Oregon; Seattle and Tacoma, Washington), in addition to Northern California (Oakland).
