Operating Room Nurses Association of Ontario

Operating Room Nurses Association of Ontario (ORNAO) is a small, four-employee volunteer association based in the province of Ontario. ORNAO serves as a representative body for perioperative registered nurses who are engaged in various roles, including direct care, administration, education, and research within the perioperative nursing field. The association's primary focus is on advocating for and supporting perioperative nurses across ten different geographic regions within Ontario. Additionally, ORNAO represents the Registered Nurses First Assistant Interest Group (Ontario). Through its network of regional chapters, interest groups, and elected board members, ORNAO provides a platform for perioperative nurses to connect, share knowledge, and advance their professional development. ORNAO holds annual meetings for each region, interest group, and its elected executive board to discuss and address the needs of its members and the perioperative nursing profession in Ontario. These gatherings facilitate collaboration and ensure that the association remains responsive to the evolving challenges and opportunities facing perioperative nurses.
