OPEN COMMUNITIES ALLIANCE

Open Communities Alliance (OCA) is a non-profit organization based in Hartford, Connecticut, with 11 employees. Since its founding in 2013, OCA has been dedicated to addressing the root causes of segregation and promoting equitable access to opportunity for low-income families of color. OCA's work centers around three core areas: research & data, legal advocacy, and outreach & organizing. They conduct research to understand the complexities of segregation, utilize legal strategies to challenge discriminatory policies, and empower community partners by providing them with the tools and resources to advocate for change. OCA aims to reduce social, economic, and health disparities experienced by marginalized communities and create pathways to affordable housing in thriving neighborhoods.
