The Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia is a legal office serving the District of Columbia. As the chief legal office for the District, it is one of the largest law offices in Washington with nearly 340 attorneys and 300 staff members. The Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia is responsible for enforcing District laws and promoting the public interest. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) provides legal advice and service to the District government and represents the interests of District residents. The OAG's work is divided among 12 divisions: Child Support Services, Civil Litigation, Commercial, Family Services, Legal Counsel, Office of Consumer Protection, Office of the Solicitor General, Public Advocacy, Public Interest, Public Safety, Personnel, Labor & Employment, and Support Services.
