Oakland Zoo

Oakland Zoo is a non-profit organization located in Oakland, California. Founded in 1922 and managed by the Conservation Society of California, the Zoo is dedicated to wildlife conservation efforts both locally and internationally. With a team of 263 dedicated employees, Oakland Zoo generates annual revenue of $17.2 million. Oakland Zoo is home to over 700 native and exotic animals and is renowned for its exceptional animal care. The Zoo's elephant care program is particularly celebrated, and the facility boasts a state-of-the-art, LEED-certified veterinary hospital, spanning 17,000 square feet – the largest wild animal veterinary facility in Northern California. Oakland Zoo strives to continuously enhance its offerings, exemplified by the California Trail expansion unveiled in June 2018.
