Nurture Nature Center

Nurture Nature Center (NNC) is a non-profit organization based in Easton, Pennsylvania. Employing 10 individuals, NNC focuses on environmental education and community engagement. NNC offers a range of educational programs and exhibits that explore local environmental risks. Using art, science, and engaging events like nature journaling and forum programs, they aim to foster dialogue between residents and decision-makers about sustainable practices. A highlight of their visitor area is NOAA’s Science on a Sphere exhibit, showcasing breathtaking visualizations of Earth and space science. NNC's work extends beyond traditional museum programming. They have become a national leader in flood risk education, having developed the award-winning Focus on Floods campaign. This campaign has generated educational materials used nationwide and informed their current projects, including a FEMA and NJ DEP-funded initiative to engage the public in coastal flood mapping and social science research projects focused on improving communication about flood risks. To facilitate community dialogue about environmental issues, NNC has developed the "From Risk to Resiliency" model, documented in a guidebook available online.
