New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI) was a joint venture between General Motors Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation, headquartered in Fremont, California. Established in 1984 and operating until 2010, NUMMI employed 2,933 people and generated $1 billion in annual revenue. NUMMI produced five award-winning vehicles: the Toyota Hilux, Geo Prizm, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Tacoma, and Pontiac Vibe. The company focused on building high-quality vehicles at the lowest possible cost, serving customers through a unique corporate culture that blended values from Toyota, General Motors, and the Silicon Valley environment.
