Who is North Carolina Botanical Garden
The North Carolina Botanical Garden (NCBG) is a public garden located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. As part of the University of North Carolina, NCBG is a non-profit organization with 56 employees. NCBG is dedicated to the display, study, and conservation of southeastern native plants. They offer a variety of educational, recreational, therapeutic horticulture, and research programs. Visitors can explore extensive southeastern native carnivorous plant collections and habitat gardens that mimic the natural plant communities of North Carolina. The Garden's primary office, the James & Delight Allen Education Center, is the first LEED Platinum certified state-owned building or public museum in North Carolina. NCBG also manages several other locations including Battle Park, Coker Arboretum, the Piedmont Nature Trail system, Mason Farm Biological Reserve, Parker Preserve, and the UNC Herbarium. The North Carolina Botanical Garden is free to the public. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, 1-5 p.m. Mondays and University holidays, the Garden is closed.
