Newport Festivals Foundation

Newport Festivals Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Newport, Rhode Island. Established in 2010, the organization employs 19 people and generates over $10,000 in annual revenue. The foundation supports music education programs year-round, both in Rhode Island and nationally. It is dedicated to expanding the impact of its two flagship festivals: the Newport Jazz Festival® and the Newport Folk Festival®. The Newport Jazz Festival®, founded in 1954, was the first jazz festival in America and has hosted numerous legendary performances by iconic figures and contemporary geniuses. The Newport Folk Festival®, founded in 1959, is considered one of the first modern music festivals in America. Newport Festivals Foundation believes that everyone deserves access to music education, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
