Neighborhood Boys Girls Club

The Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club is a non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 1931, the Club has served the community for over 85 years and employs 38 individuals. Operating with the mission to enhance the well-being and develop the potential of youth, their families, and the community, the Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club relies on contributions from alumni, parents, businesses, foundations, and corporations. The Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club offers a variety of programs for youth aged 5 to 18, including athletic, educational, social, and leadership opportunities. The Club emphasizes sportsmanship and teamwork, ensuring participation for all members regardless of skill level. Key programs include the Youth Development and Leadership Program, designed to mentor and guide young people, and on-site afterschool programs at the NBGC Clubhouse, Coonley Elementary School, Bateman Elementary School, and Cleveland Elementary School (with students from Cleveland transported to Bateman). Seasonal athletic programs cater to various interests throughout the year, featuring boys and girls flag football, soccer, cheerleading, basketball, floor hockey, and volleyball. These programs provide a positive alternative to negative influences and foster leadership skills, new friendships, and a sense of pride in oneself.
