National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition

The National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. With 13 employees, NABS focuses its efforts on addressing the lasting trauma caused by the U.S. Indian Boarding School policy. NABS works to increase public awareness and cultivate healing for individuals, families, communities, and American Indian and Alaska Native Nations affected by the Boarding School Policy of 1869. Their work involves developing and implementing a national strategy to understand and address the ongoing impact of this policy. NABS is a membership organization comprised of over 100 Native and Non-Native members and organizations dedicated to boarding school healing. The organization's vision is Indigenous cultural sovereignty, and its mission is to lead in the pursuit of understanding and addressing the ongoing trauma created by the U.S. Indian Boarding School policy.
