NAHMA The National Affordable Housing Management Association

The National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) is a non-profit organization based in Alexandria, Virginia. Employing five individuals, NAHMA is dedicated to advocating for the interests of multifamily property managers and owners involved in providing quality affordable housing. Founded in 1990, the organization has grown to encompass a distinguished membership of industry leaders, including multifamily managers, owners, and stakeholders. NAHMA's mission centers around supporting policies that promote the development and preservation of safe and decent affordable housing. The organization actively engages in shaping affordable housing legislation and regulations by presenting testimony, drafting white papers, and disseminating crucial information to its members through alerts, newsletters, and other communications. NAHMA also cultivates strategic partnerships with other industry groups, amplifying the collective voice of the affordable housing sector. Beyond policy advocacy, NAHMA serves as a valuable resource for technical education and information. It fosters productive relationships between government agencies and industry professionals, and recognizes individuals who exemplify excellence in affordable housing. NAHMA also acts as a central hub for 20 regional, state, and local affordable housing management associations (AHMAs) across the United States.
