Morris Museum of Art

The Morris Museum of Art is a museum located in Augusta, Georgia. It is a non-profit institution with a staff of 18 employees. The museum was founded in 1985 and opened its doors to the public in 1992. The Morris Museum of Art specializes in showcasing the art and artists of the American South. The museum's permanent collection boasts over six thousand works of art spanning from the late-eighteenth century to contemporary pieces. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum hosts twelve special exhibitions each year, along with a variety of public and family programs. As the oldest museum in the United States dedicated to Southern art, the Morris Museum stands as a unique cultural resource.
