Missouri College Advising Corps

Missouri College Advising Corps (MCAC) is a non-profit organization based in Columbia, Missouri, with a team of 24 employees. MCAC partners with the national College Advising Corps to provide college advising services to high school students. MCAC's mission is to empower Missouri students to pursue and succeed in college. They accomplish this by placing recent college graduates as advisers in partner high schools across the state, specifically focusing on schools with high percentages of first-generation-college, low-income, and underrepresented students. MCAC advisers work closely with students to help them understand the college application process, find the best-fit institution, and navigate financial aid options. What sets MCAC apart from other college access programs is their unique approach. MCAC advisers model that college is attainable for all students by working alongside school counselors and engaging in near-peer interactions. Their full-time commitment to advising and immersion within the school environment allows them to provide comprehensive support to all students. Unlike some programs, MCAC does not recruit for specific institutions, instead focusing on helping students find the best-fit option for their individual needs and goals.
