Mission Readiness

Mission: Readiness is a nonpartisan national security organization based in Washington, District of Columbia. The organization is comprised of nearly 800 retired admirals and generals who advocate for smart investments in America’s children. It operates under the Council for a Strong America, a nonprofit organization. Mission: Readiness focuses its efforts on increasing investments in early childhood education programs, expanding access to healthier food options at schools, and improving Physical Education programs. The organization believes these initiatives are critical to ensuring young people's success academically, maintaining physical fitness, and adhering to the law. Their target audience includes policymakers at local, state, and federal levels. Mission: Readiness seeks to educate policymakers on the importance of these interventions and their impact on national security and the overall well-being of future generations. To achieve this, they engage in a variety of activities including direct meetings with policymakers, legislative testimony, media outreach through letters to the editor and op-eds, the publication of research reports, and the organization of events.
