Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group

Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group is a non-profit organization based in Seattle, Washington. With thirteen employees, the group focuses on environmental conservation efforts in the Puget Sound region. Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group works to improve the health of salmon populations and surrounding communities through a variety of projects. These projects include repairing fish passage barriers to allow salmon to migrate upstream, planting native trees to mitigate stream temperatures, and removing bulkheads to restore natural shorelines. The organization also runs educational programs designed to engage residents of all ages in conservation efforts. Since 1991, Mid Sound has undertaken restoration projects across three watersheds in central Puget Sound: the Green/Duwamish, Cedar/Lake Washington/Sammamish, and East Kitsap watersheds. As a member of a network of fourteen Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups in Washington State, Mid Sound collaborates with other organizations to promote salmon recovery statewide.
