Michigan Poverty Law Program

The Michigan Poverty Law Program (MPLP) is a small non-profit organization located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with a staff of five employees. MPLP was founded in 1997 as a joint project of the Michigan Advocacy Program and the University of Michigan Law School. The organization is dedicated to providing support and resources to local legal aid programs and poverty law advocates across the state. MPLP's primary function is to provide state-level support services and systemic advocacy to address legal barriers faced by low-income individuals and families in Michigan. This includes offering case consultation, training, and program development to legal aid organizations and advocates.
