Madison Investment Fund

Madison Investment Fund (MIF) is a student-led investment fund located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. With 32 employees, the Fund serves as an outside money manager to the James Madison University Foundation. Established in 1999, MIF provides a real-world platform for James Madison University students to learn about investments and financial theory while fulfilling their fiduciary duties as portfolio managers. MIF manages a diverse portfolio divided into six coverage sectors, along with a portfolio management group, an economic analysis group, and the Madison Sustainability Fund. Each sector is overseen by a portfolio manager, with larger sectors also featuring an associate portfolio manager. The Fund's management team, composed of the President, portfolio managers, and associate managers, is dedicated to optimizing the MIF experience for its members. The Madison Investment Fund distinguishes itself by offering a unique educational opportunity within the College of Business at JMU. Through active portfolio management, students gain practical experience in finance and investment strategies.
