Little Italy of Los Angeles Association

The Little Italy of Los Angeles Association (LILAA) is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, California. This small group of three employees is dedicated to establishing a Little Italy within the city, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Italian Americans who call Los Angeles home. LILAA's primary mission is to create a vibrant central gathering space that showcases the history, language, and traditions of Italian culture. Their vision includes transforming the current "Pepper Tree Plaza" in San Pedro into "Piazza Miramare" - a magnificent piazza inspired by those found in Italy. This piazza will serve as a hub for community events, a weekly farmers market, and a platform for cultural programming, fostering a sense of belonging for the local Italian-American community. Recognizing the historical significance of San Pedro as the last remaining ethnic enclave of Italian Americans in Los Angeles, LILAA has chosen this waterfront location to establish their Little Italy. Their efforts are driven by a dedicated Board of Directors composed of prominent leaders within the Italian-American community and fueled by substantial funding commitments and countless volunteer hours.
