Lake Lemon Conservancy Dist

Lake Lemon Conservancy District is a non-profit organization based in Unionville, Indiana, with a small team of 5 to 9 employees. Established in 1953, the district's primary mission is to manage and protect Lake Lemon, a scenic reservoir situated in the rolling hills of south-central Indiana. Lake Lemon serves as a backup water supply for the City of Bloomington and is also a popular destination for recreational activities such as boating, fishing, and swimming. The LLCD actively works to maintain the lake's water quality and ecological balance through regular monitoring, nuisance wildlife and vegetation control, and a comprehensive Lake Lemon Restoration Project. This project, launched in 2010, enables the district to oversee dredging and shoreline stabilization efforts, ensuring the long-term health and integrity of the lake. Beyond its core responsibilities, the LLCD fosters community engagement through its seven elected volunteer directors, who represent Lake Lemon landowners.
