La Casa de Don Pedro

La Casa de Don Pedro, Inc. (LCDP) is a non-profit organization located in Newark, New Jersey. Established in 1972 by community activists, LCDP has grown to become the largest Latinx-led organization in New Jersey, serving over 50,000 residents annually. LCDP focuses on three key areas: Early Childhood Development, Healthy Homes, and Community Empowerment. Their Early Childhood programs include Prenatal, Early Head Start, Head Start, and Pre-K services. The Healthy Homes initiative provides assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Weatherization, and Lead Remediation/Abatement programs. Community Empowerment programs encompass a range of services such as support for Women & Families, Immigration assistance, Workforce Readiness training, Youth Enrichment activities, Housing & Home Ownership guidance, and Community Organizing efforts.
