Justice Arts Coalition

Justice Arts Coalition is a non-profit organization based in Takoma Park, Maryland. With a small team of three employees, the organization has a track record of generating $2.5 million in annual revenue. Justice Arts Coalition (JAC) focuses on utilizing the power of art to bridge the gap between incarcerated individuals and the wider community. They work with over 500 incarcerated artists, providing them with platforms to share their work through exhibitions, online galleries, and events called ArtLinks. JAC also facilitates connections to opportunities offered by partner organizations. A unique program offered by JAC is the pARTner Project, an arts-focused correspondence program. This program pairs incarcerated artists with artists from outside the prison walls, allowing for the exchange of creative works, inspiration, and support. JAC also serves as a resource hub for teaching artists and arts organizations that provide programs within prisons.
