Isothermal Community College

Isothermal Community College is a comprehensive, two-year public institution located in Spindale, North Carolina. Founded in 1964, the college serves Rutherford and Polk counties and is a part of the North Carolina Community College System. Isothermal employs 121 people and generates approximately $100 million in annual revenue. Isothermal Community College offers a range of academic programs and services to its students. Their mission is to "improve life through learning." In addition to academic programs, Isothermal owns and operates WNCW 88.7, an award-winning public radio station broadcasting in portions of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia. The college's main campus spans 142 acres in Spindale. Isothermal also operates the Polk Center in Columbus and the Rutherford campus, situated on an 11-acre lake, which houses The Foundation Center for the Performing Arts.
