International Institute of New Jersey

The International Institute of New Jersey is a non-profit organization based in Jersey City, New Jersey. With 11 employees, the Institute has served as a hub for immigrant resettlement since 1918, initially as a YWCA program and later as an independent non-profit. The International Institute of New Jersey provides a comprehensive range of services to immigrants and refugees. These include legal assistance with immigration and citizenship matters, English instruction, interpreting and translation, employment training, and individual and family counseling. They also offer specialized programs such as the Anti-Trafficking Program, Refugee School-Based Services, and Survivors of Torture. All programs aim to help newcomers achieve self-sufficiency. In addition to direct services, the Institute conducts conferences and training sessions to educate leaders in various sectors about immigration issues. This includes corporations, healthcare, government, law enforcement, education, and social services. The Institute also advocates for policies that promote fair and equitable treatment of immigrants and refugees.
