International Coalition of Sites of Conscience

The International Coalition of Sites of Conscience (ICSC) is a non-profit organization based in New York, New York. With 37 employees, the organization focuses on supporting historic sites, museums, and memory initiatives around the world. ICSC works with over 350 member organizations in more than 65 countries. These members utilize the past to address contemporary social justice issues. The organization provides support through grants, networking opportunities, training programs, transitional justice mechanisms, and advocacy efforts. In addition to its core work, ICSC launched the Global Initiative for Justice, Truth and Reconciliation (GIJTR) in 2014. This consortium of nine global organizations collaborates with communities to amplify the voices of survivors and encourage collective action in countries grappling with human rights violations. GIJTR has facilitated over 240 grassroots projects and engaged more than 681 local civil society organizations in 72 countries.
