Idaho State Board of Education

The Idaho State Board of Education is a governing body based in Boise, Idaho. It is comprised of eight members, seven appointed by the Governor and the voter-elected Superintendent of Public Instruction. The organization oversees Idaho's public educational institutions, agencies, and school system. The State Board of Education implements policies and oversees public higher education institutions and executive agencies. Their strategic plan guides policy decisions and current initiatives include Next Steps Idaho, Complete College Idaho, STEM education, College Application Week, Direct Admissions, and implementing the Governor's Task Force for Improving Education recommendations.
