Icarus Interstellar

Icarus Interstellar is a non-profit organization based in Anchorage, Alaska, with 9 employees. Established by members of Project Icarus, the organization focuses on researching and developing technologies that will enable near and medium-term interstellar flight. Icarus Interstellar aims to further the goals of Project Icarus, an initiative of the Tau Zero Foundation (TZF) in collaboration with The British Interplanetary Society (BIS). Project Icarus builds upon the work of the BIS's Daedalus project, a design study conducted in the late 1970s that envisioned an interstellar probe mission to Barnard's Star. Drawing inspiration from the Greek myth of Icarus, the organization seeks to "touch the stars" and break free from Earth's gravitational constraints.
