IBTS Institute for Building Technology and Safety

IBTS Institute for Building Technology and Safety is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Ashburn, Virginia. IBTS is comprised of a team of 209 employees working to improve the safety and quality of life in communities across the country through a variety of public-non-profit partnerships and regional service agreements. The organization provides a range of services to municipalities, including Building and Community Development, Energy and Sustainability Services, Disaster Planning and Recovery, Quality Assurance, and Compliance and Risk Monitoring. IBTS aims to help municipalities deliver efficient services while balancing social, economic, and environmental priorities. IBTS is guided by a Board of Directors made up of government officials appointed by five influential governmental associations. These associations include the Council of State Governments (CSG), International City/County Management Association (ICMA), National Association of Counties (NACo), National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center), and National League of Cities (NLC).
