Human Spirit Initiative

Human Spirit Initiative is a non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a small organization with a staff of four. Human Spirit Initiative produces profiles of social sector entrepreneurs from the past. These profiles, known as monographs, are brief histories filled with lessons relevant to the present and future. The goal of these profiles is to inspire people to build healthy, diverse, and inclusive communities. The organization is driven by volunteers who have dedicated their lives to strengthening the human services sector. Anne Nixon, a key figure in HSI, authored five of the monographs featured on the website, bringing to life prominent social leaders and activists of the past century.
